NIȽ TU,O Child and Family Services Society (NIȽ TU,O) recently designed keepsake books for children and youth in care, creating a special opportunity for the youth and caretakers to document memories and stay connected to community and culture.

NIȽ TU,O is dedicated to ensuring Coast Salish youth remain connected to community, culture, and language throughout life. To this end, NIȽ TU,O offers culturally safe Support Services and Family Strengthening Programs, and an array of supplemental supports such as language education resources and the NIȽ TU,O Culture & Care Daily Planner.

The NIȽ TU,O keepsake books, or “Life Books,”  with the SENĆOŦEN name NE S,HELI SOȽ (My Spirit Life Path), are a new resource designed specifically for children and youth in care with NIȽ TU,O. Each book is held in a beautiful leather binder and features pages where youth and caretakers can document and reflect on personal history and formative moments and memories – from family trees and maps of their communities, to school events and favourite things through the years, and places to save photos, art, documents and childhood mementos.
